The active ingredient is Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate (Sodium salt of the dichlorisocyanurate acid dihydrated). If dissolved in water, it results some stable chlorurated and unchlorurated isocyanurates(please, do not confuse with cyanydes, which are toxic) and free chlorine as hypochlorous acid (HOCl).
Due to chlorine release, the hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is extremly efficient against, a great number of microorganisms as bacteria, fungi, viruses, etc. which could very pathogenic to humans. Among all the chlorine releasing products the disinfectants containing sodium dichlorisocyanurate as active ingredient present a great number of advantages comparing with other products based on other chlorine compounds as: high efficiency, compactness comparing with powder, easily stored.
